I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
